An Update on Cardiac Transplantation in the United States.

Clinical Transplants 2014, Chapter 3
Abstract
Heart transplantation in the United States remains an
important option for those with heart failure. Survival rates over the last 25
years have improved with the advent of newer immunosuppressive agents,
innovation, and a better understanding of managing risk. However, many patients
continue to experience allograft failure after transplantation. Innovations in
modalities to reduce acute and chronic rejection are needed to improve the
long-term success of heart transplantation.
