Clinical Transplants 2011, Chapter 31

Abstract

This section of Clinical Transplants 2011 has presented outcomes-based evidence that supports the use of single antigen bead testing for detection of donor specific anti-HLA antibodies (DSA). In this section, 5 centers described their use of monitoring in the patients with preformed anti-HLA antibodies. Four reports defined the epidemiology of de novo DSA, providing the basis for understanding when antibodies appear and how change in antibody intensity can indicate those at an increased risk of allograft dysfunction. Finally, 3 manuscripts focus on the use of antibody monitoring in treatment of AMR.
