DR. YANGHZI ZHU LABORATORY
ABOUT DR. YANGHZI ZHU
Yangzhi Zhu is currently an Assistant Professor at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation (TIBI). He was previously a postdoctoral researcher in the Nanoengineering department at the University of California, San Diego in 2020. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside in 2019. His recent work focuses on soft materials, and wearable bioelectronics for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
RESEARCH OVERVIEW
Dr. Zhu’s lab is a highly interdisciplinary research team dedicated to developing wearable bioelectronic devices for personalized healthcare applications. Our research integrates soft materials and chemical/mechanical innovations, and device- and system-level applications towards diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Some of our current devices include electronic skin that performs real-time health monitoring and human-machine interface and smart contact lenses that offer the early screening of ocular diseases and the therapeutic capability of sustained drug release.
