Woodland Hills, CA – February 25, 2025– The Terasaki Institute's recent media contest, "Beyond the Horizon: The Future of Bioengineering," drew outstanding entries from across our community, exploring the intersection of art and science. Participants captured scientific phenomena through photography and videography, showcasing everything from intricate patterns in nature to groundbreaking laboratory experiments.
A distinguished panel of judges evaluated submissions based on creativity, technical skill, and thematic expression. "We were truly impressed by the creativity and talent displayed in this contest," noted Terasaki Institute CEO Ali Khademhosseini. "The entries beautifully captured the intersection of art and science."
Ranan Aktas earned the grand prize with "Peering into the Microscopic Universe," a short video that masterfully depicted the hidden beauty of microscopic worlds. Second place went to Prateek Singh's "Vasculature Printed-on-Order," a photograph distinguished by its innovative composition of printed vasculature. Mohammad Nazeri secured third place with "Symphony of Hydrogels: Blossoms of Automation," a creative piece reminiscent of Andy Warhol's Pop Art style.
This celebration of art and science demonstrated the inspiring potential when these fields converge. We thank all participants for their outstanding contributions and look forward to future contests.
