Nafiseh Moghimi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation and researcher at Mathematical Medicine Lab, University of Waterloo. She received her Ph.D. degree in Material Science and Nontechnology from the University of Waterloo in 2015. Dr. Moghimi completed a postdoctoral training at the joint program at Harvard Medical School and University of Waterloo, and have industrial experiences in pharmaceutical regularity affairs and testing. Dr. Moghimi’s multidiscipline academic training background in Physics (B. Sc. And M.Sc.), Chemistry/Material Science and Nanotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Microfluidics and Cancer biology provided her numerous publications and mentoring experiences. Her research interests include developing personalized medicine platforms, tissue Engineering, and implantable devices, and biosensing approaches for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes and their translation into the clinic and market. She also interested in developing new methods for material hybridization and fabrication for sensors are being used in environmental remediation and water treatment. Dr. Moghimi is the recipient of the “Women Who Inspire Award” (2019), “Waterloo Institute of Nanotechnology Award” and invited speaker in “Inspiring Future Women in Science”, in 2020 at Perimeter Institute.
