Dear Colleague, As a fellow researcher, academic peer, or friend of Dr. Paul I. Terasaki, we are reaching out to connect with you and share some exciting news. We are thrilled to introduce the launch of the new Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation, as we welcome the new CEO and Director, Dr. Ali Khademhosseini! Dr. Khademhossini joins us with extensive research and leadership experience in the field of biomedical technology. He will lead our Institute to invent and foster practical solutions that restores or enhances the health of individuals. We will work collaboratively across multiple disciplines to develop technologies for personalized approaches to identify the medical needs of patients, foster creative ideas to meet those needs and rapidly translate that into real-life products or devices. The Terasaki Institute was founded by the generosity of the late Dr. Paul I. Terasaki, a pioneer in organ transplant technology who aspired to improve patient health. It is our hope that the ideas and products that are developed at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation will have far-reaching effects that will manifest itself in a variety of applications, including those in the transplantation field. We are inspired by Dr. Khademhosseini to build and lead the Institute to “Aim Big” and work on transformative research that will optimize patient care and build on Dr. Terasaki’s legacy.
