Dr. Keith Terasaki followed his father, Paul Terasaki, as Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2010. He is deeply committed to the mission of the organization, which focuses on developing life-changing products for the betterment of mankind.
Keith attended UCLA for both his undergraduate and medical education. He trained in General Radiology at LA County-USC Hospital and in Interventional Radiology at Stanford. Most of his medical career has been spent at Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center, where he served as chief of the radiology department for ten years. For 20 years, he was also the chief of all the interventional radiologists serving the entire Southern California Kaiser membership of 3 million people.
He currently works part-time as a general radiologist at the same hospital. Early in his career, he received one of the top awards for best clinician at the hospital. More recently, near the end of his career, he was honored with the top physician humanitarian award for his volunteer work on Skid Row.
In addition to supporting biomedical research, Keith and his Family Foundation contribute to various important causes in the LA area. They regularly support education, from preschool to college, as well as numerous environmental and sustainable organizations and critical social services issues.
Keith is actively involved on the boards of the Wesley Health Center, the Metropolitan YMCA of Los Angeles, Vista Del Mar Children’s Services, the Colburn School of Music, TreePeople, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Japanese Institute of Sawtelle, and the Little Tokyo Service Center.
He also serves on numerous advisory boards at UCLA. In 2023, Keith was honored with the prestigious UCLA Alumnus of the Year Award, an accolade his father also received many years earlier.
