Abdul Salih

Dr. Abdul Rahim is a distinguished postdoctoral researcher at the Terasaki Institute
for Biomedical Innovation (TIBI). He earned his Ph.D. in Mechatronics
Engineering/Biomedical Engineering from Jeju National University in South Korea,
where he made notable contributions during his doctoral studies. His achievements
included the development of innovative kidney-on-a-chip and reperfusion injury-ona-chip models. These early accomplishments marked the beginning of his promising
career in the field of research and academia. Following the successful completion of
his doctorate, Dr. Rahim continued to refine his expertise as a postdoctoral
researcher and lecturer at Jeju National University. This period enriched him with
invaluable experiences, further honing his teaching skills and research prowess.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to cutting-edge research, Dr. Rahim recently
embarked on a new phase of his journey at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical
Innovation, guided by the mentorship of Dr. Vadim Jucaud. His research interests
span a captivating and multidisciplinary spectrum, encompassing areas such as
Organ-on-a-Chip technology, Microfluidic Platform Systems, and Disease Modeling.
His primary focus lies in the advancement of vascularized organ-on-a-chip models
and vascularized human-on-a-chip models, placing him at the forefront of
groundbreaking biomedical innovation. Dr. Rahim's work not only promises to
significantly enhance our understanding of intricate biological systems but also
holds the potential to propel the field of biomedical research and innovation to new
height.
