Zuzana Tirpáková

Zuzana Tirpáková has received her bachelor’s degree in biology (2016) at Comenius University in Bratislava and continued with her master’s degree in Agrobiotechnology (2019) at Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra where she also obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics (2017). During her studies, Zuzana joined the research group of Prof. Pastoreková at Biomedical Research Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences where she worked on her diploma thesis concerning cancer microenvironment in 3D cancer co-culture models. As an intern at Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Zuzana studied potential implication of activated natural killer cells of the immune system in the invasion of colon cancer spheroids with different expression of IF1, the inhibitor of the ATP synthase under the supervision of professor Cuezva. After graduation she joined the bioprinting start-up company where she spent 10 months at the position of Biologist. Currently, Zuzana is a first year PhD. student at University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Slovakia where under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Luptáková and Prof. Petrovová is studying angiogenic potential of biomaterials using the chorioallantoic membrane of avian embryo (CAM model). Apart from CAM model, Zuzana’s interests are bioprinting and tissue engineering. As a visiting research scholar at Terasaki Institute, her work will be devoted to the development of liver cancer model.
