POST-TRANSPLANT ANTIBODY AND CHRONIC REJECTION NEWSLETTER NO. 4. January 2008

The study now has 4,802 patients enrolled, which include 3,906 kidneys, 58 Kidney/Pancreas, 456 heart, 24 heart/lung, 194 lung, and 164 liver patients. Great to see that we have more heart, lung, and liver patients this time. Eleven centers have returned the antibody screening data so far, and Single Antigen beads were sent out for specificity testing. Five centers have already finished the donor-specificity analysis.
We now have less than one year until the Brazilian Workshop. If you have not yet sent us your patient lists or screening data, we encourage you to do so, as it is not too late to have your data included in the report. Please also know that the project will continue beyond the Workshop.
Several centers who also participated in the 14th Workshop have asked whether they could enroll the same patients. Yes, it is ok to enroll the same patients, but we ask for a second bleeding if possible. Please let us know if you would like to take this option.
Results on heart and lung transplants from prior workshops is now in Press in Transplantation.
